We visited the Hogle Zoo yesterday and enjoyed it very much. We took a friend with us and, even though there was a light rain, the zoo was not crowded at all. The animals were active and fun to watch.This was either Eve or Acara (not sure which one), the Bornean Orangutan. She either wanted to show off by bending the steel pipe, or wanted to play.
Oh, by the way, the zoo has a new Asian cats exhibit, a very nice improvement from the old concrete kitty jails they use to have. Very impressive.
After the zoo we enjoyed a good lunch at Cafe Trang, one of our favorite SLC restaurants. The downtown location has moved and since I didn't remember the address, we drove to the Cottonwood Mall location.
That evening we enjoyed a nice dinner at Macaroni Grill with friends.
A very nice way to spend a Saturday. -K
