Disneyland

Another successful trip to Disneyland! The kids (Charlie, Tyler, Abby & Reed) appeared to have a good time. The big kids (Kent, DeeAnn, Christine & Jeff [not pictured] had a great time as well. Charlie was just tall enough to be able to go on most rides, except for Maliboomer, which nobody else went on either. Even Reed was tall enough for Space Mountain though he didn't like it very much.

Charlie had an early baptism while on Grizzly Rapids Run where like last time, he got soaked! But it was Jeff that got the worst of it on Splash Mountain.

We saw lots of characters, even had our picture taken with a few.

The only bad part of the trip was the rain. we all got wet and cold. Even though it only rained for about 3 hours, we all still had a great time and are looking forward to our next trip back.

Review - The Associate

Yesterday I finished The Associate by John Grisham, his latest legal thriller. This book harkens back, and is very similar to The Firm, his first novel.

Kyle McAvoy is the main character, a recent Yale Law School graduate. He is blackmailed into spying on the country's largest law firm, Scully & Pershing. They are representing one side in a bitter battle over a multi-billion pentagon contract, and the other side stops at nothing to uncover documents and secrets that could help them win. Kyle is sucked into this spy game.

Ok, that's the plot. The character development is shallow, the story is weak, and the ending leaves you with "that's it?" Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. I believe Grisham has exausted his creativity and origionality. Stick to nonfiction and biographical fiction, Grisham.

Now it's on to A Darker Place by Jack Higgins.
