For Spring Break this year, we went on a cruise to the western Caribbean. This included sailing from Galveston, Texas to Roatun, Honduras then to Belize City, Belize then to Cozumel, Mexico. We flew into into Houston the day before the cruise. Somehow we got upgraded to first class on the plane so we were treated to warm towels, real pillows and blankets, a lunch, and very quick access to our baggage upon landing. We stayed overnight at a Holiday Inn near the airport, and and dinner at one of the few restaurants in the area, a Waffle House. The next morning we went back to the airport and caught our shuttle to the port. After checkin, we ate a little lunch then made our way to our room.

Mangrove trees and elephant grass. The trees grow right in the water, making a grove look like an island. the water is so clear in the coves you can see the grass, eaten buy the manatees during their mating season. |

Another shipwreck, a result of the ship being blown off course during a storm. |

Some of the homes along the road in Roatan, Honduras. Not a high standard of living. Electricity is so expensive, they dry their clothes outside, a very common sight. |
