For Fall Break this year we took Harvey down to Zion's National Park. Trip down was pretty uneventful, had our usual stop in Beaver for cheese and we were there in no time. We stayed at the Zion's Canyon Campground...nice enough place, full hookups, but the sites were very close together and our neighbors were very noisy. But, we enjoyed the closeness to the shuttle.
The fist night we settled in and had dinner with Pat Jackson and some of his kids who were also enjoying the park. We ate at a Mexican place call Whiptail Grill. Food was good!
The next morning we hopped onto the shuttle and took a tour of the beautiful park...lots of pictures and they don't do justice to the jaw-dropping views we saw.
Loved the accessible and friendly shuttle! |
Had lunch at the Zion's Lodge restaurant. |
Only critter sightings this trip were some wild turkeys and some deer that are obviously adapted to tourists. They didn't seem to mind the crowds at all.
The next morning (woke up to a nice rain shower) we watched a few videos and then met Tom and Vicki Grondel and Joseph and Debbie Walker for lunch. Had a great visit and the decided to take another run through the park with them. We didn't get off the shuttle but enjoyed the round trip ride.
Decided to leave Saturday afternoon instead of Sunday morning. Didn't know if we wanted to have another night of trying to sleep with loud music and people next to us, so off we went. It rained most of the way home and we pulled in around 9:00pm. We will definitely come back in a few years.
