Today is the first day of our vacation. I'm writing these next 16 days in advance and will post more information and pictures when we return, but for now, it is an update on where we are and what we are expected to be doing.
Today is December 19th. We catch a flight from Salt Lake City to Phoenix and then to San Francisco. We should be to our hotel by noon, then we hope to a little exploring, and see the new Walt Disney Family Museum at the Presidio (former military base). Lunch at the Bodin factory for a fresh sourdough bread bowl full of soup and a sandwich. Dinner at Alito's, one of the many seafood restaurants on Fisherman's Wharf.
The reality: we made it out of Salt Lake just before they closed the airport! It was a very snowing drive into town and we are glad we were able to fly out. We were about 20 minutes late, mostly due to de-icing. But both segments of the trip were smooth and uneventful. We even caught our connecting flight without any problem.
We ate lunch at the Bodin Bread Factory on Fishermans Wharf. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and bowl of chili in a fresh sourdough bread bowl while DeeAnn had a bowl of clam chowder, again in a fresh sourdough bread bowl.

We then went to the Walt Disney Family Museum. It was an interesting museum with lots of good exhibits, films, documents, and artifacts. Since it centered around his life, there was not really much said about the company after he died.

We then walked around Fisherman's Warf and the Pier. After that we ate at Alitos. Stuffed pasta shells for Kent and a crab dinner for DeeAnn. Nice view and good food.
