We enjoyed another Disney trip with the Minor's ... well 3 of them. We took Alyssa, Braden, and Jaycie and had a great time. We took the Frontrunner to the airport, had a quick breakfast, boarded the plane, took a super shuttle to the hotel (Castle Inn) and were in the park in no time.
There were a few crowds but really it wasn't bad that first day there. Here are scenes from the fun we had at Disneyland Park.
Like it always is this time of year, there was a holiday feeling in the air. Christmas decorations everywhere. One of our first rides was the Jungle Cruise. DeeAnn decided to take advantage of their "accessible" boat. Pretty fascinating to see the creativity in providing persons in wheelchairs the same experience without having to climb out of their chairs.
Next was Haunted Mansion. Disney now has a fast pass system for wheelchair users due to many people of the years taking advantage of the system...(i.e., renting wheelchairs when they didn't need them), but we didn't have to wait very long.
Winnie the Pooh ride and Splash Mountain.
Kent only got "a LITTLE" wet on Splash Mountain. |
We saw glimpses of the new Star Wars land going up when we were in this area. It will be exciting when it's all finished. Next we headed over to Toon Town. Something we don't always do but it was fun to see it. Rumors are circulating that it might not be there for much longer.
Then Kent and the kiddos' all time favorite ride (NOT) ... It's a Small World.
They are good sports and accompany DeeAnn on it at least once per Disney trip.
Can you see the joyful anticipation of the ride? |
Time for an ice cream break and then more of Fantasyland.
Tomorrow Land included Nemo, Space Mountain, and Buzz Lightyear.
Then, just for fun, we took the Disneyland Railroad. A nice ride to sit, relax and enjoy the scenes.
On to California Adventure.
There's been several changes since the last time we are here. The area over by "Screaming" and Toy Story is now renamed Pixar Pier.
Cars Land is always fun, especially this time of year.
Where else can you find a Christmas Tree made out of tires?
Braden and his dream car. |
Alyssa giving the discussions to cast member (not really). |
Headed over to Hollywood Studios area. We watched the new Frozen show (cute but we like the Aladdin show a tad better), rode on Tower of Terror (now renamed ... ), a run through Monsters Inc. and saw Turtle Time with Crush.
Other California Adventure ... adventures ...
All too soon it was time to head home. We all had so much fun and hope to be there again.
