The week after Labor Day, we headed to California to see what is was like to go when school was in session....something we really haven't had a chance to try until DeeAnn retired.
Disneyland was already decked out in Halloween decorations. We were there for a day before Della and the kids came, so we had the chance take some holiday pictures and go on a few rides.
Moments with Mr. Lincoln |
We went to Tortilla Joe's at Downtown Disney, a favorite restaurant of ours. Enjoyed table top guacamole and delicious entrees, though we keep forgetting how much food it is.
There was no line at the Jungle Cruise ride. We were the only ones on our boat and instead of the usual dialogue and jokes, our skipper gave us a really interesting history of the ride.
Haunted Mansion was all decked out for Halloween.
More Main Street holiday decorations. |
We enjoyed a quiet ride along the Storybook Canals since there was very little wait to get on the ride.
Ducks at the Storybook Canal Ride |
Kent on the Thunder Mountain Railroad ride. |
Della and her sweet foster kids, Raul and Yonnie came to join us the 2nd day. It was fun the share a day with them. It was Raul's 1st time to Disneyland and we think Yonnie's 2nd. They only had one day so we crammed in as much as we could.
A run through Kent's "favorite" (not) ride, It's A Small World.
We were excited to see the new Star Wars Land. Very authentic looking but so far only one ride. They will be adding another ride in 2020.
On the Disney Railroad |
Creepy greetings at California Adventures |
In California Adventures they have a short "Coco" musical show. It was quite cute and we are always impressed with Disney's creative use of puppetry.
Little Mermaid Ride. Nice romantic ride and out of the hot weather.
It is always fascinating on how Disney incorporates seasonal decorations and makes them look like they have always been there.
Getting our treats at the Cozy Cone area. |
Bakery tour. |
Paradise Pier is now Pixar Pier. they have re-themed most of the rides there, changed menus and made it a celebration of all things Pixar. So, you have a friend in me!
New ride. |
"Screaming" is now "Incredicoaster" |
New Show, kinda cute with the Disney characters. |
Della and I went to the Frozen show while Kent and kids went on a few of the "wilder" rides. |
